The School of Education invites educators, students, and members of the public to its virtual public lecture entitled Teacher Education in a Post-plagiarism Era: Students as the Stewards of our Future
In this provocative and forward-looking keynote, Dr. Sarah Elaine Eaton will explore the urgent need to integrate generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) into pre-service teacher education. Drawing on global trends, policy developments, and ethical considerations, Eaton challenges the cautious stance taken by some educational authorities and calls for a bold reimagining of teacher training in a post-plagiarism era. Dr. Eaton will address topics such as:
· The necessity of hands-on GenAI training for pre-service teachers and their instructors.
· The evolving concept of academic integrity in an age of AI co-creation.
· Strategies for engaging students as partners in learning and innovation.
