The International Association of Universities (IAU) will host its 13^th General Conference from Tuesday 15^th – Friday 18^th July, 2008 at Utrecht University in the Netherlands. The General Conference, marking the 60 years of the IAU, will focus on the theme, “Higher Education and Research Addressing Local and Global Needs”.

The programme will open the dialogue on Universities as Local and Global Actors, bringing together Koїchiro Matsuura, Director General of UNESCO, Angel Gurría, Director General of OECD, and Joy Phumaphi, Vice President of the World Bank.
