CETL Workshop - Canva for Teaching & Learning: Designing with Purpose

Event Date(s): 25/02/2026

The CETL will be hosting a virtual workshop from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday February 25, 2026 for staff members in which participants will actively design or redesign teaching materials on Canva while exploring how visual design choices influence student learning and cognitive load.

Canva is a versatile, user-friendly design platform that empowers educators to create engaging learning materials—from lecture slides and posters to infographics and student-facing handouts.

Grounded in sound multimedia and instructional design principles, the session will help you create materials that are clear, engaging, and pedagogically effective.

Whether you are designing a lecture presentation, activity guide or student handout, this workshop will support you in aligning your materials with best practices in visual and multimedia learning.
