Discover how strategic thinking drives success across the global sports industry at this upcoming Sports Management Public Lecture, hosted by the Department of Management Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences, The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine from 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2026.

This event will be delivered in a hybrid format and is free and open to the public, will feature Mr. Geoff Wilson, Global Sports Strategist, who will share insights on how effective strategic planning supports success across professional clubs, federations, sporting events and development programmes.

About the Speaker

Mr. Geoff Wilson runs his own consultancy business with a primary focus on sport. Formerly Head of Marketing and Communications at the Irish FA, he now consults with a wide range of global sports organisations in areas such as strategic planning, marketing and communications, digital engagement, fan engagement, public affairs, women’s football, league development, club development and capacity-building programmes. He has created numerous academic models for the sports industry and has worked on consultancy projects in more than 100 countries. Mr. Wilson also serves on the Advisory Panel at the English Football League and is Chair of the Sports Council Trust Company, a Sport England organisation.
