The Department of Literary, Cultural and Communication Studies (DLCCS), UWI St. Augustine, invites the campus community to Critical Caribbean Conversations, a series that brings together renowned artists, writers and intellectuals to share their work and engage audiences on pressing contemporary questions and challenges.
On Thursday, March 19, 2026, the series continues with actor, playwright and critic Dr. Travis Weekes, author of numerous plays, including his most recent, Take Me to Mon Repos (CAS, 2024). Dr. Weekes will present a lecture drawing on a wide range of plays, including his own, to examine the sources of contemporary drama in the Caribbean. The lecture will be followed by an audience Q&A and wider critical discussion.
