The Department of Geography, Faculty of Food and Agriculture, invites staff, students and members of the public to its World Water Day 2026 Lecture from 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 26, via Zoom. This timely session will explore how scientific modelling is used to assess and manage water-related hazards across the Caribbean, with a focus on climate vulnerability in small island developing states.

Featured Speaker Dr. Arpita Mandal, Senior Lecturer in Hydrology, The University of the West Indies, Mona

Dr. Mandal is an expert in hydrology and hydrogeology, with extensive teaching and research experience in water resources, hydrological modelling, and climate change impacts. She has contributed to major regional and international projects funded by organizations such as the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank, and currently serves on the technical committee of the Global Water Partnership – Caribbean.
