The Arts-in-Action Unit of the Department of Creative and Festival Arts, in collaboration with Reflections of Our Oral Traditions (ROOTS) are currently hosting a series of workshops to select six young people to represent Trinidad and Tobago at the Brave New Voices International Youth Poetry Slam Festival to held at Washington D. C.
The workshops are hosted every Saturday at the DCFA office from 1:00-4:00 p.m. and are open to young people aged thirteen to twenty-five.
To aid in sending the six young people to Washington D. C. Arts in Action and ROOTS will showcase the talent of the country’s youth, as well as the six chosen at a concert on Sunday 6th July, 2008 at the JFK Lecture Theatre from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Contribution to this benefit concert is $100.00.
