The Trade and Economic Development Unit invites the campus community to National Conversations: Mid-Term Economic Review on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. via Zoom.

This timely and engaging session forms part of The UWI’s public outreach initiative, providing an important forum for informed dialogue on Trinidad and Tobago’s evolving economic landscape. The discussion will explore key macroeconomic trends, governance challenges and policy directions shaping the nation’s future, while highlighting the growing importance of sectoral restructuring in building economic resilience.

The event will feature:

-          Dr. Indera Sagewan – Lecturer, Trade, Globalisation and Development, Institute of International Relations, The UWI St. Augustine

-          Dr. Daren Conrad – Senior Lecturer and Head of the Department of Economics

-          Dr. Bhoendradatt Tewarie – Former Pro Vice-Chancellor and Principal, The UWI, St. Augustine, and Former Minister of Planning

The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Rebecca Gookool-Bosland, Former Lecturer, Department of Economics, The UWI, St. Augustine.
