Public Lectures on Academic Integrity in a Global and Caribbean Context

Members of the campus community and the wider public are invited to attend two free public lectures focused on academic integrity in a global and Caribbean context.

Hosted as part of The University of the West Indies’ collaboration with the University of the West of Scotland (UWS) and its participation in the IntegraGuard Proof-of-Concept Project, these lectures will examine the growing challenges of academic integrity in the age of generative artificial intelligence.

The featured speakers are:

Dr Ruth Baker-Gardner Lecturer, Information Studies, The University of the West Indies, Mona Topic: The State of Academic Integrity in the Caribbean Time: 2:30–3:30 p.m. (EST/JA) | 3:30–4:30 p.m. (AST/Eastern Caribbean)

These sessions will explore how AI is reshaping academic misconduct, the global need for ethical and effective responses, and the opportunities for Caribbean universities to lead with integrity.
