Life as a Scientist in Extreme Environments: Adventures, Outbreaks & the Unexpected

The Department of Preclinical Sciences invites you to an engaging seminar that explores the realities of scientific fieldwork beyond the laboratory. Join Dr. Anika Salim, an accomplished research scientist and expeditionary expert, as she shares firsthand experiences from some of the world’s most challenging environments.

Dr. Salim’s work spans global health emergencies and infectious disease research, with field experience ranging from remote jungles to frontline outbreak responses, including Ebola. Drawing on her unique background in science and exploration, she will offer insights into the scientific, logistical, and human dimensions of field research.
