The campus community is invited to tune into the Vice-Chancellor’s Forum on The Cuban Crisis on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. AST/11:00 a.m. EST via UWItv.
Led by SALISES and the Latin American-Caribbean Centre, the forum will explore “Perspectives on the Current Cuban Crisis: Issues, Impact, and Imperatives.” The discussion will examine Cuba’s severe socio-economic challenges, including economic collapse and energy shortages, while considering the wider implications for the Caribbean region.
The forum will also provide space for critical discussion and analysis on the political tensions and humanitarian hardships currently affecting the Cuban people.
