The Department of Literary, Cultural, and Communication Studies, Faculty of Humanities and Education, The UWI St. Augustine Campus, will host Equations of the Marvellous: Reframing Caribbean Perspectives Through Contemporary Theories, a two-day conference featuring multi-modal presentations by postgraduate students.

Organized in partial fulfilment of the requirements for CLTR8002: Readings in Contemporary Cultural Theory 2025/2026, the conference offers students an opportunity to showcase innovative projects emerging from their studies while contributing to wider scholarly conversations on Caribbean theory and practice.

The event will feature Dr. Tracie Rogers as keynote speaker. Dr. Rogers is a Caribbean feminist scholar and artist whose work spans knowledge production, creative inquiry, and community engagement. She is a faculty member in the Department of Sociology, Psychology, and Social Work at The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, Jamaica, and a Research Associate at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa.
