The Campus community is invited to attend the Cocoa Research Centre’s Annual Research and Development Symposium 2026, taking place on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at the Auditorium, School of Education.
Hosted by the Cocoa Research Centre, this year’s symposium will be held under the theme “Revitalizing the Cocoa Value Chain in Trinidad and Tobago.”
CARDS 2026 will bring together researchers, sector leaders and policymakers to explore opportunities for rebuilding, strengthening and reimagining Trinidad and Tobago’s cocoa sector. The symposium will focus on key areas including cocoa genetics, agroforestry, postharvest innovation, sustainability and value addition.
From the International Cocoa Genebank to farm-level resilience and quality development, the symposium will highlight research and innovation that can help move cocoa from a heritage crop to a stronger national opportunity.
