The Centre for Language Learning invites staff, students and members of the public to a free Japanese Haiku Workshop on Saturday, July 11, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Auditorium, Centre for Language Learning.

Facilitated by renowned poet Emiko Miyashita, the workshop will introduce participants to haiku, the traditional Japanese poetic form known for its simplicity, precision and connection to nature and everyday life.

The session will feature a special lecture and an interactive practical component, giving attendees the opportunity to learn the structure and techniques of haiku writing while creating their own poems.

Admission is free but registration is required.
