Deaf Expo: Connecting Communities, Empowering Lives

Location: The School of Education, The UWI St. Augustine Campus


The School of Education invites the campus community and wider public to the Deaf Expo, an accessible and interactive exhibition hosted as part of the Caribbean Deaf Education Conference.

Presented in Trinidad and Tobago Sign Language, American Sign Language and English, the Expo will bring together local, regional and international organisations, government agencies, businesses and community advocates working to advance accessibility, education, health, inclusion and economic empowerment for Deaf and hard of hearing persons.

Visitors can explore exhibits and services related to:

  • Education and family support
  • Health and wellness
  • Employment and entrepreneurship
  • Assistive technology
  • Community outreach and advocacy

The Expo will also spotlight Deaf-owned businesses, authors, creatives and entrepreneurs from across Trinidad and Tobago. Attendees can engage directly with exhibitors, participate in demonstrations, access useful information and build connections across the Deaf community and its allies.
