The Department of Economics, Faculty of Social Sciences, The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus, invites the campus community, policymakers, researchers, industry professionals and members of the wider public to attend the Annual Conference on the Economy (COTE 2026) on Thursday, November 12 and Friday, November 13, 2026.

Hosted in hybrid format, this year’s conference will be held with the theme Exploring New Opportunities for the Blue, Green and Orange Economy in the Caribbean and SIDS for Sustainable Development.

Across two days of presentations and discussion, COTE 2026 will examine emerging economic opportunities and challenges affecting the Caribbean and Small Island Developing States, with sessions focused on:

-          Geopolitical and Economic Shifts

-          Environmental and Climate Challenges

-          Social and Demographic Trends

-          The Blue Economy: Where Did the Buccoo Go?

-          The Green Economy: What’s Your Footprint?

-          The Orange Economy: The Multiplier of Machel
