Dear New Students, 

Congratulations once again on joining The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus! 

You’ve started classes, begun exploring campus life and are settling into your new academic journey. But there is one more moment that marks your formal entry into The UWI community of scholars: Matriculation.

As a stop on your journey through the year-long First Year Experience (FYE) Programme, the Matriculation and Welcome Ceremony is one of the University’s longstanding academic traditions. By signing the Matriculation Register and taking the Academic Vow, each new student formally becomes part of a scholarly community built on learning, discovery and academic responsibility. 

The Matriculation and Welcome Ceremony will take place on Friday, 18 September 2026 at The UWI Sport and Physical Education Centre (SPEC), St. Augustine Campus. 

Save the Details

-        Event starts at: 5:00 p.m.

-        Students arrive by: 4:15 p.m.

-        Guests arrive by: 4:30 p.m.

Attendance is strongly encouraged.
