The Department of Management Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences invites members of the campus community and the wider public to Winning in Sports through Strategic Planning, a free lecture exploring the role of strategy in building successful sports clubs and associations.
The session will examine what “winning” really means in sport, where clubs and associations generate revenue, how effective governance works and how organisations can develop and implement practical, results-driven strategic plans.

About the Speaker
Gustavo Silikovich brings extensive international experience spanning business, football administration and sports strategy. He has served as Strategy and Innovation Consultant for FIFA in the Americas, supporting the professionalisation and management of football associations across North, Central and South America.
His leadership experience also includes serving as General Manager of River Plate (2014–2019) and General Secretary of the Ecuadorian Football Association (2019–2022). He is currently CEO of VIRTUS, a US-based agency providing solutions for sports organisations across the Americas.
Silikovich holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Buenos Aires and has completed specialised CIES Sports Management and FIFA Football Executive programmes.
