Launch of the International Labour Organisation Report

The University of the West Indies, Centre for Gender and Development Studies (CGDS)  in collaboration with the International Labour Organisation (ILO) will present the launch of the ILO report “Reconciling work and family: Issues and Policies in Trinidad and Tobago” by Professor Rhoda Reddock and Dr. Yvonne Bobb-Smith on Tuesday 22nd July, 2008 at the UWI Learning Resource Centre (LRC), St. Augustine from 10:00 a.m.

 

 

The Report explores the context and climate within which working people - women and men in Trinidad and Tobago organise to combine their family and household responsibilities with work/employment responsibilities.  It also evaluates the degree of support which exists for working parents and workers with family responsibilites and makes recommendations to improve the situaition.

 

There will also be a Panel discussion with panellist from the Ministry of Labour and Small and Micro Enterprise Development, Ministry of Community Development, Culture and Gender Affairs, Ministry of the Attorney General, the Employers’ Consultative Association, the National Trade Union Centre as well as the Network of NGOs of Trinidad and Tobago for the Advancement of Women.
