The Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) invites all members of staff and their families to Laugh Out Loud!, its annual end-of-year event on November 26 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Teaching and Learning Complex, Auditorium A, bringing together comedy, creativity, games, music and friendly competition in support of mental and physical well-being.

Staff can come simply to enjoy the afternoon or take the stage and represent their Faculty or Department. Performances can be entered individually or as teams, with prizes up for grabs across several categories.

Take the Stage

Choose from:

• Spoken Word: Perform an original or selected poem, excerpt or other spoken piece on a topic of your choice. Performances should be 2–3 minutes.
• Extempore: Put your quick thinking and creativity to the test with a 3–4 minute performance, either solo or in a group of 3–5 persons.
• Musical Parody: Take a popular song, rewrite the lyrics and make it your own. Perform solo or as a team of 3–5 persons for up to 3 minutes.

Prizes will be awarded to winners in each category, with additional prizes for games, team spirit and representation.

And if performing isn't your thing, that's perfectly fine. Staff and their families are welcome to come out, support their colleagues, play some games and enjoy the afternoon.

Performances will not be recorded, so participants can relax, have fun and get creative.
