2026 National Health Research Conference

The Campus community is invited to attend the Seventh Annual National Health Research Conference, taking place on Tuesday, November 17, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency, Port of Spain, under the theme “Building a Healthier Nation Through Innovation, Research and Collaboration.”

The conference is a collaborative initiative involving the Ministry of Health, Tobago House of Assembly, The UWI Faculty of Medical Sciences, The University of Trinidad and Tobago, The University of the Southern Caribbean, Regional Health Authorities and the Trinidad and Tobago National Nursing Association.

Bringing together more than 200 researchers, healthcare professionals, policymakers, students and other stakeholders, the conference will explore research addressing national health priorities, including infectious diseases, chronic non-communicable diseases, clinical and laboratory studies, and veterinary sciences.

Conference highlights include:

-          A keynote address and presentations by local and international speakers

-          Digital poster exhibitions showcasing health research

-          Networking and opportunities for cross-sector collaboration

-          An awards ceremony recognising excellence in health research

The conference aims to strengthen Trinidad and Tobago's health research capacity, encourage collaboration and support the translation of research findings into healthcare policy and practice.

-          Full-Time Students (Undergraduate, Master's and PhD): TT$450 | US$65
