UWI Life Support Network

On Wednesday 3^rd September, 2008 at the UWI Sport and Physical Education Centre from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The University of the West Indies will host the UWI Life Support Network. This event is for the parents, spouses and relatives of the students.

This event ensures that the persons closest to the student are as well informed as possible to guarantee that the student’s transition into UWI Life is a smooth one.

 

UWI Life Student Orientation

On Friday 5^th September, 2008 at the UWI Sport and Physical Education Centre from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The University of the West Indies will host the UWI Life Student Orientation. This event is for first-year full-time undergraduate students only and comprises a morning and afternoon session.

The morning session is a more formal session geared towards preparing the students for the real-life issues they may face while on campus. The afternoon session is an Icebreaker session where students can relax and interact with members of staff and be entertained. The Icebreaker session will also include free giveaways and sponsored prizes.

 

UWI Life Extension

On Thursday 11^th September, 2008 at the Learning Resource Centre (LRC) from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The University of the West Indies will host the UWI Life Extension. This event is geared toward assisting the mature (those 25 years and over), evening, part-time as well as postgraduate and distance student adjust to University Life. Suggestions are made on how to balance work, family and finances.
