The Sir Arthur Lewis Institute of Social and Economic Studies (SALISES) will host a research seminar entitled “Issues in Equity Financing” by Ms. Varuna Ramlal, SALISES MPhil Candidate on Tuesday 4th November, 2008. The seminar will be held at the SALISES Conference Centre from 10:00 a.m.

The seminar will examine three relatively distince but  related phenomena concerning equity financing in three Caribbean countries: Barbados, Jamaics and Trinidad and Tobago. The three issues are the co-movement of the equity markets in these three countries with key macroeconomic indicator, the corporate governance structure of firms using equity financing and finally, the trading rules, if any, ny which investors trade in equity stocks. These three markets were chosen due to their relatively developed status among Caribbean equity markets.
