The UWI Business Development Office in collaboration with the Ministry of Planning, Housing and the Environment and the Squatter Regularisation Project will  host a workshop titled “Process and Standards for the Regularisation of Informal Settlements” on Thursday 23^rd October, 2008 in the Conference Room of the new Student Administration Building.

The workshop is intended to review the processes and standards for the regularisation of squatting and informal settlements with particular reference to hillside areas. The workshop is the third in a series resulting from a project on regularisation of squatting being executed by UWI/ Interplan Ltd for the Ministry of Planning, Housing and the Environment. The workshop will review the land use, planning and engineering standards involved in regularisation of squatting and recommend new standards appropriate to this activity.
