Climate Change and the Caribbean

The Sir Arthur Lewis Institute of Social & Economic Studies (SALISES), in collaboration with the French Embassy and the Delegation of the European Commission, will host a forum on the topic “Climate Change and the Caribbean: A clear and present danger?” This will take place on Thursday 4th December, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in the SALISES Conference Centre, UWI, St. Augustine Campus.

The session will be chaired by SALISES Director, Prof. Patrick Watson.

The panelists in attendance are:

Dr. John Agard, UWI Professor of Biology  and Chairman, Environmental Management Authority of Trinidad & Tobago

Dr. Pascal Saffache, Dean of the Faculty of Human Sciences, University of the French West Indies and French Guyana and author of several influential works on climate change and sea level rise

Dr Alan Bachan, Chief Executive Officer, Turtle Village Trust

 

Members of the media, the university community and the general public are invited to attend and partake in discussions.
