The Measure of a Revolution: Cuba 1959 – 2009 

 The conference entitled ‘Measure of a Revolution: Cuba 1959-2009’ will be held form the 5th – 9th May 2009, at Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario, Canada.  This convention is jointly organized by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Havana University, Boston University and Queen’s University.  

Researchers are invited to submit papers in the following areas:

International Relations

Gender/ Women's Studies

The Cuban Economy

Environment

Race Relations

The Cuban Community Abroad/ MIgration and Transnational Issues

Cuban Culture

Religion

Politics and Government

Sexuality

Education

Health and Medicine 

 

Guidelines for Submission

Please submit your abstract electronically to cuba09@queensu.ca. by January 15, 2009.

(Please en sure that you put ‘The Measure of a Revolution abstract’ in the subject line of your email).

 

Please provide the following information:

1. Author’s full name, institution, department, post, phone number and email address.

2. Title of paper and brief abstract of 200-300 words. 

 

PLEASE NOTE:

Papers will be selected on a competitive basis for publication (Editors: C. Krull, S. Castro, Lou Perez, S. Eckstein). Additionally, publishable papers are due April 16 2009
