The Criminology Unit of the Faculty of Social Sciences will host “Criminology Conference 2009” from Wednesday 8th to Thursday 9th April 2009. The theme of this conference is “Developing a Caribbean Criminology”.
Theme: DEVELOPING A CARIBBEAN CRIMINOLOGY Criminology Unit Conference, 2009
This conference is intended to highlight the work done by scholars on and about the Caribbean region as it pertains to crime and justice. It is hoped that this intellectual gathering would play its part in developing the Caribbean Criminology that was first championed by Kenneth Pryce in 1976
Papers and Panels are invited for the following topics:
Gender based violence in the Caribbean
Youth Crime and Juvenile Delinquency
Theorizing Caribbean Criminal Justice Systems
Corporate Crime and State Corruption in the Caribbean
Drugs, Guns, Sex and Human Trafficking in the Caribbean
Developing a Caribbean Criminology
Other sub-themes/topics are welcomed
The deadline for submission of abstracts is February 10th 2009
Authors of papers accepted for presentation at the conference will be notified by March 10th 2009
The deadline for submission of full papers in PDF format is March 31st 2009
Selected papers from this conference would be considered for publication in our monograph series
