Ambassador Albert Ramdin, Assistant Secretary-General of the Organisation of American States (OAS) will deliver an address at The University of the West Indies (UWI). This distinguished lecture will take place on Monday 26^th January, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the Learning Resource Centre at UWI St Augustine Campus. In anticipation the 5^th Summit of the Americas in mid-April, Ambassador Ramdin will discuss ‘A New Moment of Change in the Western Hemisphere: Realities and Opportunities.’  

 

In his feature address, Ambassador Ramdin will provide a strategic analysis of the geopolitics of the western hemisphere in the context of current global challenges. The lecture will also include an appraisal of the fundamental changes taking place in the hemisphere, and generate discussion on the forthcoming 5th Summit of the Americas, scheduled to take place in Port of Spain, from the 17^th to 19^th April, 2009. As such, Ramdin is also expected to provide some recommendations on strategic directions for CARICOM.
