The Instructional Development Unit (IDU) will host a workshop entitled Preparing Your Course for Online Teaching and Learning on Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th February from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the IDU’s Conference Room, Ground floor, Sir Frank Stockdale building.
The workshop is designed to assist faculty in preparing their courses for utilising the online environment. Underpinning theories and ideas in support of the use of technologies in teaching and learning will be addressed and participants will develop skills in organising their courses to enhance student learning through the use of technology, in which aspects of the course will be placed in myeLearning.
Day-1 explores the differences between face-to-face and online environments and learning theories and principles that support student learning.
Day-2 provides methods to “chunk” and structure your course and ways of making decisions about learning activities that blend both learning environments.
