The Sir Arthur Lewis Institute of Social & Economic Studies (SALISES) will host a Forum entitled “Is Calypso Dying?”. This presentation will take place on Thursday February 12th, 2009, at 10:00a.m. in the SALISES Conference Centre, UWI, St. Augustine Campus.
The panelists are:

Dr Louis Regis, Lecturer in Literatures in English and Calypso Aficionado
Mr Lutalo Masimba (Brother Resistance), General Secretary of Trinbago Unified Calypsonians’ Organization (TUCO) and Originator of Rapso
Mrs Elizabeth Montano, mother of Machel Montano; Director, Xtatik Limited and M.Phil Candidate (Cultural Studies), UWI.
The Forum will be chaired by Professor Patrick Watson
Members of the media, the University Community and the general public are invited to attend and to take part in the discussion that will follow the presentation of the panelists. Light refreshments will be served.
