The Faculty of Engineering will offer a short course entitled “Structural Design Basics for Hurricanes and Earthquakes” from May 19^th to 21^st, 2009. The course will be held in Room 101, Block 1, Faculty of Engineering, UWI, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This course will enable participants to understand the basic principles of structural analysis and the fundamentals of structural behavior when buildings are subjected to dead and live loads, as well as hurricane and earthquake loads.

Dr. Myron Wing-Sang Chin will be the facilitator of this course. The course can be attended at a cost of TT$2500 or US$417. If payment is received by Tuesday 14^th April, a reduction will be made in the cost and participants will pay TT$2250 or US $375.

This course package includes a seminar workbook, certificate of participation and lunch and refreshments.
