Registration is now open for the 7th Annual Caribbean Internet Forum, hosted by The University of the West Indies (UWI) Mona School of Business and the Caribbean Internet Forum’s Board of Directors. The Caribbean Internet Forum (CIF) is a regional visioning and planning conference designed to generate strategic responses to pressing market, policy and technology issues related to the Internet.
The Forum, which will be held in Kingston, Jamaica, from November 25-26, 2009, is a solution-oriented two-day conference themed ‘Building a Caribbean Broadband Platform for Regional Development’. It will bring together regional service providers, business leaders, government policy-makers, regulators as well as policy and practice leaders in information and communication technologies, telecommunications, Internet service provision and media.
This year’s conference will explore innovative ideas to expand effective use of Broadband and ICTs for social and economic development in the Caribbean, drawing on the experience of local, regional and global specialists. Expert presentations will focus on such issues as:
