PhD student, Mr. Jeffrey Leela, will be hosting a seminar titled " Modelling a Football for the Caribbean," scheduled to take place on November 19th, 2009, from 3 p.m. - 4 p.m., on the 3rd floor of the Natural Sciences building, room 313.
Abstract:
In this seminar, we will explore the various elements and the materials used in the construction of a football suitable for the Caribbean. Also included in the study is the way the ball is made giving specific reasons for its particular design and shape. This would make it possible to make a ball that is better suited to our general climatic conditions, instead of the common practice of adopting standardized balls designed specifically for tournaments abroad.
