World Association for Sustainable Development (WASD) 8th International Conference - Call for Papers

The University of the West Indies (UWI), St. Augustine and the Government of St Lucia are partnering to host the World Association for Sustainable Development (WASD) Eighth International Conference. The WASD 2010 Conference, entitled “Towards Epistemic Sovereignty: (Re)-thinking Development in a Changing Global Political Economy,” is scheduled to take place from November 22nd-24th, 2010, at the William Jefferson Clinton Ballroom, Sandals Grande St. Lucian Spa & Beach Resort, St Lucia. This multi-disciplinary conference aims to encourage a critical examination of the neoliberal approach to development, and encourages participants to consider alternative explanations for the Third World problématique of underdevelopment.

Call For Papers: The Deadline for Abstracts has been extended.

  • Deadline for Abstract/Paper Submission: June 5th, 2010
  • Deadline for Revised Full Paper Submission: July 5th, 2010

Papers after the deadline will not be included in the proceedings.  

 

All papers will be reviewed for possible publications in:

 

Submissions of papers (no more than two papers per presenting author) are invited in any of the conference different RESEARCH TRACKS, but need not limit their options to these themes/tracks. 

Please submit your paper (s) directly to the Track Chairs with a copy to the Program Coordinator. The different themes (or tracks), each with a listing of topics, have been formulated to aid the organisers of, and participants in, this conference in paper solicitations, review, and in assigning time slots for presentation. The topics in each listing are typical examples and are not in any way exhaustive or even mutually exclusive. The aim is to include in this conference a wide variety of ideas and issues and not to exclude any scholarly input that is related to the major themes of this conference. 

Authors who are uncertain of the appropriate track for their papers should consult the program chair at conference@worldsustainable.org, the WASD2010 Conference Chair at wasd2010@sta.uwi.edu.
