In commemoration of International Creole/Patois Day, the Main Library will be putting out a display of books in or about Kwéyòl/Patois. This will be facilitated by Mrs Kathleen Helenese-Paul and her staff in West Indiana. There will also be posters of a few of the 700 French and Patois names for our T&T Flora and Fauna, put up by Mrs Shamin Renwick and her staff of the Agriculture and Life Sciences Division, Floor 2. (According to Lise Winer’s Dictionary of the English/Creole of Trinidad & Tobago, there are over 1,300 words of French and French Creole origin in use in T&T today.)
