Counselling & Psychological Services (CAPS) Mental Health Month Activities

The Counselling & Psychological Services (CAPS) under the umbrella of Division of Student Services & Development (DSSD) presents the following Mental Health Month activities for staff and students under the theme, Every Mind Matters:

Mindful Mondays | This series is open to staff and students and takes place every Monday from 5 to 6pm at the Learning Resource Centre, Computer Lab East. Persons can simply walk in for some relaxation and meditation. Beginners are welcome. To view a printable flyer, please click here.

Learn about Anxiety | Every Thursday in October from noon to 1.30pm at the Centre for Language Learning (CLL), 1st Floor, Lecture Room. The schedule is as follows:

  • October 5 – Does Your Mind Worry?
  • October 12 – Social Anxiety
  • October 19 – Panic Attacks
  • October 26 – Performance Anxiety

Art of Human Blossoming | Sage Path presents this 10-week course which focuses on holistic self-development. It takes place every Thursday from 2 to 3pm at the Teaching and Learning Complex (TLC), Tutorial Room 3. To register, please visit www.thesagepath.org/registration. Uwe Speak | October 25 | 7pm | The UWI Peer Counselling Association (PCA) in collaboration with 2cent Movement present this Spoken Word event which focuses on mental health and the [Full Stop] project under the theme Making Caring Cool Again. MOOD FOOD Workshop | October 27 | 7 to 8.30pm – Students: How does food affect your mood? Find out at this event brought to you by CAPS and Caribbean Nectars which takes place at Milner Hall.
