The winners gave their feedback. See their comments below:

Ahmed Hosein – Faculty of Engineering: “The session was extremely helpful, as all staff who assisted were thorough in their explanations of the functions of the library and clearly described all the ways a student can take advantage of the provided services and resources. They did not hesitate to answer my questions. This session was undoubtedly a must for new students, and I would recommend to all incoming students to take the time to attend a session.”

Whitney Mack – Faculty of Humanities and Education: “The library tour was very useful, especially the part in which the guide taught me how to look for books using the library network. I have to use this network often to search for specific books, so the tour was very helpful to me.”

Nigel Gangadeen – Faculty of Social Sciences: “I learned from one of the librarians how to use the databases and cite sources. All the members of staff were very helpful and knowledgeable of all the services offered e.g. Ask A Librarian, multimedia. The library tour not only met my academic needs, but exceeded my expectations.”

Ian Boyce – Faculty of Engineering: “The presenters were very nice, and familiar with the website. The presentation was very concise and informative – making me more comfortable with both the library and the website.

Dawnelle Paul – Faculty of Science and Technology: “The Know Your Library orientation sessions were very informative and creative. I liked the hands-on approach used in the lab sessions and the ‘Passport to the Library’ idea, which to be honest was my motivation to attend. I feel confident that the Alma Jordan Library is equipped with all the resources necessary for the completion of my research, and I am no longer intimidated by its vast majority.”

Brit-Annie Kelly – Faculty of Social Sciences: “The tour guide was very informative and answered all questions that were presented. It was amazing to find out about, not only the physical components of the library, but the virtual components as well. I was able to navigate the library’s resources.”
