Break the Silence (BTS): Educators and Child Sexual Abuse Symposium

The School of Education (SOE) Library, in collaboration with the Institute for Gender and Development Studies (IGDS) and the Early Childhood Caravan present the Break the Silence (BTS): Educators and Child Sexual Abuse Symposium – Designed for high school teachers, lecturers and individuals in education to gain an understanding of the issue of Child Sexual Abuse (CSA), its psychological impact and implications for education.

You are invited to attend on April 25 from 9.30am to 12.30pm at the School of Education Auditorium where the BTS Teacher Training Tool Kit will also be officially launched.

About the BTS Educators and Child Sexual Abuse Symposium

The symposium will offer findings and data coming out of the Break the Silence action research project and offer insights and tools to identify incidents of and possible victims of CSA. The Break the Silence Teacher Training Toolkit provides youth friendly guidelines and activities for upper primary and secondary school teachers to successfully implement gender-sensitive activities in the classroom to raise awareness and encourage discussions about the intersection between gender, CSA and HIV.
