Confucius Institute invites you to celebrate its 5th anniversary at the upcoming Confucius Institute Day.
Be there on September 28 from 10am at the JFK Auditorium.
Experience Chinese Culture – Participate in Tai Chi Fan masterclasses, learn how to make your very own creations at the Chinese Knot-making booth, express your creativity at the calligraphy booth and more.
Activities include:
- Chinese knots – In this booth, participants will learn about the history and uses of Chinese knots, and will make simple crafts using Chinese knot making techniques.
- Chinese calligraphy – At this booth you can try your hand at Chinese calligraphy, learn about the origin and evolution of Chinese characters through interactive games and even make your own Calligraphy masterpiece.
- Chinese paper cutting – In this booth, participants will learn simple techniques of Chinese paper cutting.
- Tai Chi fan – In this activity, participants will learn the graceful, quick and powerful movements of Tai Chi Fan.
- Five animals play – In this activity, participants will imitate the movements of five animals; the monkey, the tiger, the bear, the deer and the crane (bird).
- Photo-booth – Participants can dress in Chinese clothing or use generic props to take an instant photograph as a souvenir.
