The UWI Credit Union (UWICU) will be hosting a Basic Auto Repair Course with facilitator, Mr. Nicholas Manmohan (He’s certified in auto and diesel craft practice and has over 35 years’ experience in the field).

Classes take place on Thursdays from February 7 to March 28 from 5 to 7pm at the UWICU Training Centre.

The deadline for registration is January 31.

Registration costs are as follows:

• Per Non-Member: $500

• Per Member: $400

N.B.: All participants must have access to a vehicle preferably gasoline. Maximum capacity of class is fifteen (15) persons.

Learn how to:

• Safely change a tyre
• Check all fluid levels
• Change engine and oil filter
• Diagnose suspension steering problems by tyre wear indicators
• Make informed decisions when purchasing tyres
• Basic electrical repairs, replace bulbs, fuses and car battery
• Jumpstart a vehicle
• Check brake pads for wear and braking system for leaks
• Improve communication skills with mechanic(s)
