The St. Augustine Association of Postgraduate Students (STAAPS) and The Office of The Director of Graduate Studies have issued a Call for Papers for the Postgraduate Research Conference under the theme, Advancing Regional Development.
The conference takes place March 15 at our campus. The deadline for submission of abstracts is February 1.
About the Conference
This conference will be positioned as a forum for the exchange of ideas on critical issues facing Caribbean countries. The emphasis is placed on generating growth and ensuring responses to social problems from multi-disciplinary perspectives in the new and ever-changing global environment. The conference hopes to bring together leaders of the local, regional and international development communities and senior government officials with those in academia. Through their collective participation, the conference aims to:
Share, investigate and analyze experiences on key emerging issues pertaining to crime, society, gender, sports, education, culture, agriculture, business and sustainable development from different disciplinary perspectives.
Identify strategies to be pursued at both private and government levels in the areas identified, as a means of promoting sustainable growth and development in the Caribbean.
Enhance understanding and collaboration between academics, leaders and policy makers so as to improve the quality and transparency of decision-making on development issues facing emerging economies.
Conference sub-themes
The conference committee seeks scholarly papers from individuals whose work addresses any of the above or related subthemes previously mentioned.
