Campus Literature Week

The Department of Literary, Cultural and Communication Studies of the Faculty of Humanities and Education  presents "Campus Literature Week” – a week of readings at lunch time from April 13 to 17 ending with a Gala closing featuring a reading by Dr. Karen Lord and Tribute to Prof. Funso Aiyejina.

This event takes place From Monday April 13 to Thursday April 16 starting with the “Lunchtime Reading Sessions” series from noon to 1.30pm at the Audio/Visual Room, 3rd Floor, Alma Jordan Library.

Monday April 13: Fiction writer Sharon Millar and postgraduate student Joanne Modeste

 Tuesday April 14: Spoken word poetry by the 2 Cents Movement

Wednesday April 15: Instructors, MFA, high school students and children's book writer Summer Edward

Thursday April 16: Prof. Barbara Lalla and others.

Friday April 17:  Current participants and alumni of the MFA in Creative Writing program

On Friday April 17 there will be a Gala Closing with a featured reading by award-winning novelist and the department’s Writer-In-Residence, Dr. Karen Lord. 

The Gala Closing will start at 7pm at at the Centre for Language Learning (CLL) Auditorium.

This will be followed by a Tribute to Prof. Funso Aiyejina of Literatures in English and African and Asian Studies and former Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Education by literary alumna Dara Wilkinson-Bobb, Graduate, MFA in Creative Writing, Fiction.
