Documenting The UWI STA Stories During the COVID-19 Pandemic

Posted Tuesday, August 23, 2022

The St. Augustine Campus Libraries embarks on a project to document the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on The UWI St Augustine Campus community.

At The UWI St Augustine, the change brought about by the pandemic is evident in the empty car parks, quiet corridors, vacant classrooms, and the closure of once booming businesses. As the challenges of the pandemic will forever be a part of The UWI’s history, it is critical for the Campus to document this life-changing period and its impact on students, staff, and alumni.

This project is titled Documenting The UWI STA Stories During the COVID-19 Pandemic. Submissions will be hosted in The UWI’s institutional repository, UWISpace. The project will start in August 2022 and last for a period of one (1) year. The project seeks to capture individual experiences in various formats including audio – music, song (lyrics with/without music), spoken word, voice note; image – drawing, photograph, painting; text – article, commentary, play, poetry, short story; video – dance, play, and monologue. This is an opportunity for persons to reflect, create, and share.

A data capture page and a website have been created for the project. The necessary submission guidelines can be viewed at the below links:
