Key Graduation Reminders

With our 2021/2022 Graduation Ceremonies fast approaching, here are a few Key Reminders you need to know.

 

When

There are six ceremonies for the Academic Year 2021/2022 as indicated below.

Thursday, October 22

  • 10 a.m. - 12 noon - Ceremony for the Faculties of Science and Technology & Food and Agriculture
  • 4 - 6 p.m. - Ceremony for the Faculties of Engineering & Law

Friday, October 28

  • 10 a.m. - 12 noon - Ceremony for the Faculty of Social Sciences (A-L Undergraduate graduands only and ALJGSB graduands only)
  • 4 - 6 p.m. - Ceremony for the Faculties of Social Sciences (M-Z Undergraduate graduands only and Postgraduate graduands

Saturday, October 29

  • 10 a.m. - 12 noon - Ceremony for the Faculties of Humanities and Education & Sport
  • 4 - 6 p.m. - Ceremony for the Faculty of Medical Sciences

 

Where

This year, the graduation ceremonies occur at The Bougainvillea Auditorium at the Centre of Excellence, Macoya

 

What to Wear

Female Graduands are required to wear white only. Dresses or long pantsuits are acceptable, with black shoes having sensible heels since you will be standing for long periods. Please note: short pants, skirts mid-thigh and above, and tight-fitted garments are not permitted.

Male Graduands are required to wear formal wear/dark lounge suits.

All Graduands must comply with these requirements.

 

Photography

The UWI-approved photographer will handle stage photography arrangements highlighting crossing the stage with your scroll canister.

You are asked to note that selfies are not permitted while crossing the stage and only the UWI approved will be allowed to capture your image crossing the stage. No other professional or personal photographer would be allowed at the Graduation Ceremony venue.

 

Safety

The following safety measures will be in place to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

  • Facemasks are required to be worn at all times while indoors except when crossing the stage.
  • Before entering the Centre, all persons are required to wash or sanitise their hands.
  • Persons experiencing flu like symptoms are asked to remain at home.
