Like other leading institutions, The University of the West Indies (The UWI) must properly manage its information infrastructure so as to advance education delivery and knowledge creation. The UWI considers information to be a strategic asset, essential to its mission and business operations. As such, it must maintain the confidentiality, integrity and accessibility of the information it generates, collects, stores, and disseminates. 

This Cookie Policy adapts best practices from the wider data privacy space to The UWI context.  It explains what Cookies are; the types of Cookies we use; the information we collect using Cookies and how that information is used. The content within this Policy represents the basic requirements that each campus must meet.  All campus web sites will we required to display a Cookie Banner, informing users of our Privacy Statement and Cookies Policy, and allowing users to accept those terms in order to use our web site.  Certain features of our web site which are supported by cookies may be unavailable until the user clicks the “Accept” button. 

The Cookie Banner will be progressively rolled out across Faculty and Department websites.
