TECHNICAL ASSISTANT II FOR DIGITAL MARKETING SUPPORT
Duties of the post include:
1. Implements and manages the digital media strategy of The UWI St. Augustine Campus, with primary focus on social media publishing and content management
2. Surveys the social media landscape for new opportunities for the Campus to utilize social media platforms in serving its constituents and effectively promoting its brand online
3. Creates, edits and manages social media content calendar using Google Calendar, Sprout Social or other appropriate online and digital tools
4. Liaises with departments and university staff to provide expertise and guidance with the set up and management of their social media pages as required
5. Liaises with Bursary staff to provide requisite accounting reconciliation information for all social media advertising spend
6. Supports Digital Media Strategist in the Digital Content Management execution by assisting in the collation, curation and distribution of UWI St Augustine’s digital content produced by multiple sources (e.g., UWI Today publication, faculties, departments, and media outlets).
7. Works closely with external agency/freelances in the day-to-day management of social media platforms to drive results for recruitment campaign
8. Ensures a data-driven approach to social media management by producing analytics reports for campaigns and annual, and other reports as necessary
9. Maintains a healthy incorporation of student-centered content into the social media content mix via collaboration with the Guild of Students, student groups and online calls for participation
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The Marketing and Communications Office places high priority on individuals of integrity who can work well in a team and student friendly environment. Candidates should also possess good communication and interpersonal skills. A good command of both oral and written English is essential.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education Required:
- Degree qualifications in Communications, Marketing, Mass Media, Public Relations OR a related field from a recognized university.
- Have working knowledge of the Microsoft suite, research and analytical tools and social media platforms
Desirable:
- Certification related to social media management or the management of the social media platforms Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube
Experience:
- Have at least three (3) years’ experience as a social media marketer/specialist or similar role
- Experience in analyzing web traffic metrics

- Possess strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Have superb communication and collaboration abilities
- Be able to function in fast-paced environments
- Possess excellent digital report writing capabilities
- Have strong analytical skills
Salary will be fixed in accordance with Grade 7 of the salary scale.
