IGDS: A Showcase of the Intersections Between Research and Outreach

As part of the ongoing 75th Anniversary celebrations, the Institute of Gender and Development Studies will be hosting a showcase at the Research Festival, highlighting the intersections between research and outreach in the field.

The following initiatives will be hosted:

The IGDS Research Festival Booth

-        Visit the Institute of Gender and Development Studies booth at the Research Festival on November 22 and 23

Public Lecture: Climate, Gender and Land Rights

-          Held in collaboration with the Department of Behavioural Sciences, a public lecture will be hosted with visiting scholar Professor Manisha Desai on the topic ‘Climate, Gender and Land Rights

World Press Association Exhibition in partnership with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands

-          An extension of the IGDS Research Festival Booth, The World Press Photo Foundation and the Kingdom of the Netherlands will present a selection of stories, awarded in the World Press Photo Contests from 2000 to 2021, that highlight the resilience and challenges of women, girls and communities around the world. This joint exhibition conveys the commitment of the Netherlands to women’s rights, gender equality and justice.

IGDS IGNITE ChalkBack UWI

-          This event marks the culmination of the semester's activities of the Cat Calls of UWI Project, highlighting street harassment and Gender-Based Violence. It also commemorates the 16 Days of Activism against GBV and serves as an extension of the IGDS Display Booth.
