Get ready to Laugh Out Loud with The Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m at Auditorium A, Teaching and Learning Complex (TLC). Persons interested in attending can click here to register.
The CETL’s Laugh Out Loud event is geared toward nurturing Faculty wellness through Arts and Comedy. This event promises an enriching experience where staff can enjoy dynamic performances and have the opportunity to participate and showcase their talents. The event aims to bolster a sense of community, camaraderie, and holistic well-being among UWI staff members by creating an environment that promotes laughter, relaxation and artistic expression.
A celebration of the union of wellness and creativity. Rediscover the joy of laughter, ignite your creative spirit, and unwind in the company of peers. This event will be a testament to CETL's commitment to nurturing academic excellence and our valued faculty's well-being.
Staff are encouraged to attend and support their fellow colleagues as they perform.

Departments/Faculties may participate as teams in the following activities; spoken word, extempore and/or musical parody. The description of the categories is provided below:
- Spoken Word: This category encompasses poems, excerpts that may be sampled or original works of art, which may be delivered verbally on stage (with or without a prompt). Participants in this category are required to deliver a verbal discourse on the stage for a duration of 2 - 3 minutes.
- Extempore: Participants in this category are required to deliver an extempore piece on stage. This may be done as a solo or group of 3 – 5 persons, for a duration of 3-4 minutes.
- Musical Parody: Participants in this category are required to perform a popular song using their own (re-written) lyrics for a duration of 3 minutes.
This may be done as a solo or group/team of 3 – 5 persons. Register your faculty team/groups in advance for different categories/acts by November 20th by clicking here.
Prizes will be awarded to the winners in each of the aforementioned categories. Additionally, there will be specialty prizes for team spirit and representation.
