Celebrating Geography Awareness Week: November 18 – November 21
The Department of Geography is Commemorating Geography Awareness Week (GAW) from November 18 – 21, 2024.
The Department invites the campus community to participate in its activities, in recognition of the importance of Geography and its role in major societal issues.
- Geographical Trivia Challenge | November 18
A student led challenge to test the campus knowledge of geography. Our Geography Club members will be on campus challenging you to outsmart your friends. Join the fun, show off your skills, and win exciting tokens! Don’t miss out!
- Geographical Information Systems (GIS) Day| November 20
The Department of Geography will be launching an online GIS Story Map titled From Classrooms to Caribbean Coastlines: GIS Stories from the Department of Geography. This story map highlights the experiences and insights of our staff, postgraduate students, and recent graduates working on GIS-related projects. - Secondary school visit and photo competition presentation| November 21 (8 am - 12pm)
Secondary schools from across the island will be participating in the Department’s annual photography contest and celebrating the theme of “Geographers in Action”
- Career Panel | November 21
The Department of Geography will be hosting its annual career panel on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at 1:30 – 2:30 pm in FFA – Room B. Alumni from the Department of Geography return to discuss how their degrees have supported their career success and much more.
