Step-by-Step Registration Guide for Summer School 2024/2025

Course registration for the Summer School (Semester III) at The UWI St. Augustine is now OPEN — and the process will be entirely facilitated online.

Deadline to Register: Saturday, June 07, 2025

Late Registration Fee of $150 Applies From: Sunday, June 01, 2025

Whether you’re catching up, getting ahead, or exploring something new, make sure you follow these key steps to register successfully and avoid any hiccups.

STEP #1:  GET FACULTY APPROVAL

1.      Download the Summer School Application/Registration Form from your Faculty's page:  https://sta.uwi.edu/faculties/

2.      Complete the form and submit it—along with scanned copies of all required supporting documents—to your Faculty’s designated email address for approval.

3.      Once approved, you will receive your UWI Student ID and password, which you’ll need to proceed with online registration.

Already a UWI student from another campus? Use your existing UWI ID number to register.

STEP #2: SELECT COURSES ONLINE

Newly Approved Students

To register, visit the Student Portal at my.uwi.edu.

-          Your User ID is your 8-digit or 9-digit UWI Student ID number.

-          Your initial password is your date of birth in the format: yyyymmdd.

 

1.      Select your Summer School courses online and click Register to complete your course selection.

2.      For help with this process, refer to the Student Registration Guide (PDF).

3.      Once you've registered for courses, proceed to Step 3 for payment of fees.

 

Currently Enrolled Students – The UWI St. Augustine Campus Only

If you are a currently enrolled student at St. Augustine:

1.      First, check the Summer School Course Offerings on your Faculty’s website to confirm which courses are available.

2.      Then log in to the Student Portal using your existing credentials.

3.      Select your desired Summer School course(s) and register.

4.      Once registered, proceed to Step 3 for payment of fees.

STEP 3: PRINT YOUR REGISTRATION FEE ASSESSMENT/INVOICE

After registering for your courses, print your Registration Fee Assessment/Invoice from the Student Portal.

This document outlines the fees payable based on your course load and is required to obtain financial clearance.

STEP 4: ENROLL IN FEE PAY TO GET FINANCIAL CLEARANCE

1.      Log in to the Student Portal.

2.      Click on "mySecureArea".

3.      Under ‘Registration Road Map’, follow these steps:

a.      Select the semester with an active status to enrol for courses.

b.      Print your Fee Sheet.

c.       Select ‘Fee Pay’ to enroll in a payment plan.

Important: All fees (including any late fees) must be paid by the last working day of June 2025 to maintain financial clearance.

STEP 5: MAINTAIN FINANCIAL CLEARANCE

1. Submit Registration Documents via e-Courier

All required registration documents must be submitted as one PDF using your UWI student email at the following link:  Submit via e-Courier

Submit before the final installment payment deadline – June 30, 2025.

The PDF should include (as applicable):

-          Signed Fee Assessment Sheet

-          Signed e-GATE Application Form (for TT nationals accessing GATE)

-          Scholarship Award Letter

-          Proof of Payment, such as:

o   Bank Deposit Slip (Front and Back)

o   Online Transfer Confirmation

o   Wire Transfer Confirmation

-          Final Project/Thesis Submission Receipt

-          Approved Tuition Waiver Form

File Naming Format:

-          Student ID number

-          Student’s full name (first name and last name)

-          Faculty (FSS, FST, FMS, FOE, FHE, FFA, FOL, AOS (Academy of Sport)

 Example: 816000430SamPaulFSS

For Citizens of Trinidad and Tobago Accessing GATE:

If you are applying for GATE funding, you must:

-          Register for a GATE e-Service ID at a GATE Registration Centre (GRC), via www.e-gate.gov.tt, or call 800-GATE for guidance.

-          Ensure the e-GATE Application Form includes:

o   Period: September 2024 to August 2025

o   Academic Year: 2024/2025

o   Semester: 3

o   Signature at the top of the form

o   Correct details – Incorrect forms will not be accepted.

Required documents for GATE-funded students:

-          Signed e-GATE Application Form

-          Signed Registration Fee Assessment Invoice

-          Proof of payment for Compulsory Fees

Additional Notes

-          Students should check My-eLearning access within 24 hours of financial clearance.

-          If you have not received clearance, confirm there are no financial holds before contacting the Bursary (Student Accounts & Receivables).

-          Documents submitted after June 30, 2025 may result in processing delays and an AR Hold on your account.

-          Monitor your UWI email regularly for updates from e-Courier regarding the status of your submission.

STEP 6: GET YOUR UWI STUDENT ID CARD/SMART CARD

(i) NEW STUDENTS (including Re-Entry Students and students from other UWI campuses)

Once you’ve received financial clearance, visit:  https://idcard.sta.uwi.edu  Follow the instructions provided to access your UWI Student ID/Smart Card.

Important Notes for New Students:

-          You must have financial clearance to obtain your UWI ID.

-          You must present a valid photo ID (passport or national ID) to collect your Smart Card.

(ii) CONTINUING STUDENTS

- Once financial clearance is granted, your UWI Student ID Card / Smart Card is automatically revalidated.

- If your current ID has not yet been upgraded to the Smart Card, bring your old ID to the ID Card Office for immediate replacement.

- If your ID Card is expired, you must have your photograph taken to receive a new Smart Card.
